Golytely

Golytely is taken as a split dose (2-day) regimen. You will take 1/2 of the prepared solution the evening before your colonoscopy and the remaining solution the morning of your colonoscopy.

You will have loose bowel movements for about 1 to 2 hours after you finish drinking the solution.

AT 6:00 PM THE NIGHT BEFORE THE PROCEDURE

FOUR HOURS BEFORE YOU LEAVE YOUR HOME FOR THE PROCEDURE

Step 1

Add cold water to fill the gallon (128-oz.) container. You may flavor the container with Crystal Light (NOT red/purple in color).

Step 2

Drink ONLY HALF (64-oz.) of the container’s contents over the next 2 hours. You will have loose bowels, so stay near a bathroom! NOTE: you will drink the other half of the solution tomorrow.

Step 3

Put the remaining solution in the refrigerator overnight. You will drink the rest of the solution tomorrow.

Step 4

Drink the remaining solution over the next 90 minutes. You will have loose bowels, so stay near a bathroom!
